Admirals Cove Golf Village started construction April 2015 with a budget of 10 million for 27 holes and a first class practice facility. Set in the heart of Jupiter, FL, this original Robert Von Hagge design was completely redesigned to enhance strategies current to modern standards, improve playability, add contouring characteristics for positive drainage and dramatic elevation changes, and restore the landscape theme into a style native to Florida. A common theme with Florida courses, Admirals Cove Golf Village is divided into basins separated by canals governed by NPBCID (Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District). With the help from local engineers (Simmons and White) KSGD was able to create a model and submit proper calculations allowing proposed piping and expansions to be implemented throughout the course. This improvement ultimately solved major issues and complaints most members expressed during the focus group sessions, while also improving the health and visual aesthetics of each canal system. Other signature features added to the project included the exchange from ageing wood bulkhead to permanent natural cap rock walls for aesthetics, classic style bunkering that fits the course spacing and eliminates typical wash outs, new low profile wood bridges, tee shots over 30 feet in elevation, transplanting of mature oaks for specific strategy and framing, and water fall feature.
