Player Responsibility

Design Principles

The player should leave every KSGD course feeling a greater love for the game

The responsibility owed to the player is that the course be playable yet challenging, relaxing yet recreational, and pleasurable yet edifying. The player should leave every KSGD course feeling a greater love for the game, physically stimulated and a greater respect for his or herself.

Alternatives at every tee, hazard and green – give rise to the incentive and reward that allow the individual golfer to find the best within his or herself. These choices allow the novice to the advanced to propel his or herself forward by challenging themselves to tougher routes.

The incentive is to challenge yourself to become better, the reward is to become better – perhaps not in your score with that first attempt but certainly within yourself in the exact moment you dare to challenge and rise above yourself. These choices are what keep the tradition alive in golf. They keep the intellect involved, they challenge the mind and keep the game from becoming “monotonous.”
