The Fort Lauderdale Country Club, built in 1926, ranks as the oldest golf course facility in the City of Fort Lauderdale and one of the original golf clubs to be built in the entire State of Florida. This club, rich with golf traditions, is in the process of transitioning itself from a low-key private club to a dominant player in the South Florida golf market. The Club retained the services of Kipp Schulties during the winter of 2006 to draw up a master plan for the redesign of the North golf course and modifications of the South Course.
